Introduction

Born in 1967 in Cameron, Barthélémy Toguo is currently living and working in Paris and Banjoun. Barthélémy Toguo uses drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, performance, and video to reflect the absurdity of borders in an era of global exchange. In his watercolours, Barthélémy Toguo uses a limited repertory of images and colours to depict a dreamy world of human, animal and vegetal metamorphosis. In his large-scale installations, he underlines humans conflicts, paradoxes and extremism.
